Being vs. Doing

This is Ruby.

She’s not making a to-do list.
Not chasing squirrels.
Not strategizing how to win the day.

She’s just being.
Still.
Soft.
At ease.

No outcome to control.
No inbox to clear.
No number to hit.

In a world obsessed with doing,Ruby reminds me that being is enough.
Being is what allows rest.
What creates space.

What lets you listen to others, to yourself, to life.
Doing has its place.
But being?
That’s where peace lives.

So maybe today, you pause.
Not forever.
Just long enough to remember you’re not a machine.
You’re a human.
And humans need stillness too.
